The Dhandha Stack

Original post
The Dhandha Stack Not everything in a business is equally hard to do. Many things are easy to “do”, but brutally hard to do *right*. - You can buy tools. - You can hire engineers. - You can copy a product feature. - You can replicate a campaign. But you can’t simply *buy* 20 years of customer trust. Culture can be designed in a deck in an afternoon and posted on the Careers page. Actually creating it takes years. The closer you get to the foundation of a business, the harder it is to manufacture with willpower, or money. The deeper you go, the harder it gets. But that’s also where the real moat lives. Also, time-to-build ≠ difficulty-to-maintain. Engineering may take years to build well, but can be systematically improved. Trust can take 20 years to build and disappear in 20 minutes. (The recent IndiGo fiasco comes to mind.) Moats are slow to build, difficult to fake, and expensive to lose. P.S. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Product sits right in the middle but squarely in the bottom half, with the CMO shaping identity and positioning.
